You may have already covered this topic, but here it goes. I will be taking my annual trip to Europe this fall and I'm concerned about flight cancelations due to the volcano eruptions. Is there a flight insurance or any type of insurance that covers hotel, laundry, meals etc. for brief or extended delays? Post a Comment

I specialize in interpetting travel insurance for clients. I feel the insurance company can be challenged on this. I would need to know more details; such as the tour operator name and name of insurance company to say for sure, but I think you need to fight this! I would be glad to help. by GrammieZ on Thursday, May 20, 2010
Obataobie......what the..??????? Are you serious or was that comment or comments a joke? by snugs on Thursday, May 20, 2010
Most travellers that purchase travel insurance have ultirior motives. Some already planned to loose their luguage before they purchase their tickts. Their targets are on travel insurance to re-emburse for cost of ticket/s, contents, expenses incurredfro the trip. Hence, not very many insurance carriers cover travel insurance. When people decide to travel with clear minds, there would be no need for travel insurance. Plan your trips when the weather is condusive. Emergency weather forecasts is understandable and re-embursable. But do not board a fight with te intantion of losing your luaguage or coming up with fake claims on damages that never existed. Do not purchase a suitcase that your friend has and you know he travels with for exchanges on arrival only to load junks in yours to pretend it was a mistake. Most problems occur at point of transit and by the bagage checkers themselves. Use adequte methods to identify your luagages both inside and outside. Buy suitcases with secured locks. Be very careful who takes you to the airport or who picks you up. Most cases, these folks would plant the seeds of your enemies. Travel light. Keep your eyes on your carry-on at all times. Travel with people you know and can trust or travel alone. Make sure you know who your "twin" is and where he lives. This can be confusing and damaging if your look-alike is a criminal. Stay away from a look-alike who you do not trust if he is a frequent traveller. Make sure your children can tell the difference between both of you. Do not let your look-alike live close to you or your name-sake. Avoid mistaken identity and desparate people. Not everyone has to know if you are travelling if you are their target, especially criminals that wait at airports to open luagages when they are not security agents. I mean, the jewelry cleaners. Be careful when they start floodng your mail box with options to buy insurance, they are up to something evil. The real insurance agents knows best how to prospect to their clients. Seek advise from a travel and or insurance agent if you must but travel insurance. by Obataobie on Thursday, May 20, 2010
I've already had repeated major cancellations for flights into London Heathrow and Italy (PSA). And good luck finding an empty coach seat with the gigantic backlog now after the last ash-cloud-cancellations.
European travel insurance covers everything luckily .. US insurance of course will not ! (act of God) by Nomad17 on Wednesday, May 19, 2010
I was booked to go on a European tour leaving YYC April 23 but cancelled, in part because of volcano activity. Had all purpose cancellation insurance through the tour company and cancelled prior to the 48 hour window. Today got a letter saying volcano eruption was not a covered hazard. If not, what is? Note that the insurance was in place prior to the eruption. by nag on Wednesday, May 19, 2010
