I'm looking for July flights from Phoenix to Florence, Pisa or Bologna. I know it's summer and prices are usually high. But wow, they seem a little too high this year! I haven't found anything less than $1200.00. I'm willing to make as many layovers as possible. Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated!!! Post a Comment
Kayak has a great tool *Buzz* that will let you check prices to top 25 EU destinations from your home airport (as booked by others, I assume) by Nomad17 on Thursday, March 18, 2010
we've used Iberia out of ORD to MAD, then on into the rest of Europe from there...good flight, good airport in MAD, less trouble and Iberia beat other air fares easily. It's worth a look. by bjlyons2 on Tuesday, March 16, 2010
A week and half ago, I found $945 via travelocity from AUS to CPH. SAince January, I kept checking about 5 different travel sites, every single morning. Play with your travel dates. Then, several comparative airfare sites alerted me to fare drops, so I continued to search.I discovered that by departing 2 weeks after I originally wanted to leave, I found a discounted US - Europe fare. (On December 31, I "lost" a summer flight of $745 RT AUS to CPH by not acting quickly enough on orbitz.com.) by denmark74 on Tuesday, March 16, 2010
When is a "good" time to buy European fares? Should you wait until 30 days before departure, lock in six months in advance? When do the airlines know their load capacities/sold seats and raise or lower their prices? by pozarrica on Monday, March 15, 2010
Any ideas for cheaper RT fair from Utah to Zurich Switzerland? I found $ 1540. Thanks by Avatar on Saturday, March 13, 2010
Northwest, now @ Delta, gave me a good fair to Bologna, thru AMS. Florence last year in Feb was ok, on NWA, with Meridiana to Florence. Pisa is cheaper than Florence and there are great trains from Pisa airport to Florence's central stazione. Dont use Ryanair, with all of its restrictive and price gouging policies. If you can find a bucket shop to Roma, the train from FCO, its airport, takes you straight Stazione Termine in Roma, and from there are trains in about 2 hours to Firenze. I got to Italia at least annually to rekit my soul. by szgaetan on Friday, March 12, 2010
$1200 to Italy is a good deal, especially from the west, Grab it. I've seen them in years past go for $1600. by coconuts on Friday, March 12, 2010
Answer above is correct. Best deal is to find cheapest fare to Europe and then take Ryan Air (watch for weight limits for luggage)or a similar carrier to your destination. Last year my husband and I flew from Frankfurt to Venice, Venice to Prague and back to Frankfurt for less than $400.00 for the two of us. Good luck! by vaction maniac on Friday, March 12, 2010
You say "We have noticed them inching down slightly, but at a very slow pace" - if I'm trying to buy a flight from San Francisco to Barcelona (and I've tried switching it up from NYC - London, SF - London, NYC - Dublin, etc to go the RyanAir route, but doesn't end up being cheaper) July 22 - 30...should I keep waiting? Or just buy now? It's a family trip so my dates aren't so flexible, and my sister is starting to get concerned because our other family members already gave in and shelled out the $1200, but I'm holding out hope for a lower price...so should I wait? Or just buy now at $1200 - $1300? Your help is much appreciated!! by saweetmarie on Friday, March 12, 2010
I recently found a rt fare from Washington, DC to Milan on Iberia of $600pp incl taxes. This was mid-May to early June. Check them out. They may have a better deal than you have been able to find elsewhere. by pdl38 on Friday, March 12, 2010
We did a 3 week trip a few summers ago. Flew to Rome, train to Florence, day train to Pisa. No hassle, cheaper than direct6, fun. by devand on Friday, March 12, 2010
Can you please tell me the cheapest fares from Palm Springs to Amsterdam, France or Ireland. I can also depart from L.A. by elso on Friday, March 12, 2010
A couple years ago my wife and I flew into Marco Polo airport in venice and took a train to Florence. The trip was very enjoyable traveling thru Tuscany, easy to accomplish and very reasonably priced. We then took the train back to Venice and stayed overnight there to catch the flight back out. Many domestic and international carriers serve Venice airport. by Europe Traveler on Friday, March 12, 2010
Purchased 3 fares to Ireland last year in April for travel in month of June for a total of $1891...wondering if fares will come down this year???????? by galway on Friday, March 12, 2010
