I'm flying into Boston next month and am wondering how much it costs to take a cab to the city of Cambridge, which MapQuest tells me is only a few miles from the airport. Any idea how long travel time would take? Or should I just take public transport (which I discovered only costs $2)? How long is the ride on the subway? A. Cabs leaving Boston's Logan Airport must pay rather hefty fees and tunnel tolls (they have to pay for that Big Dig somehow), so your ride might easily cost $25 with tip but with no traffic should only take 20-25 minutes. The "T" (Boston's public transit system) might take about 30-35 minutes to Harvard Square in Cambridge and does indeed cost $2. There's a free shuttle bus from the airport to the airport station. Plus, riding the subway is better for the environment. Post a Comment
The journey book sequence Let's Go will usually list the most affordable and best ways to journey from the flight terminal or practice programs in many larger places. by Seattle Airport Transportation on Monday, April 30, 2012
From Logan Airport, you can take the "Silver Line" which is a bus, to South Station. At South Station, you will take the red line which connects to different T stops in Cambridge. It will save you a ton of money. by Anrev on Tuesday, November 10, 2009
The new "Silver Line" bus will pick you up right from the terminal for $2 and deliver you to Boston's South Station (saving multiple transfers and money) where you can transfer to the "Red Line" for free and travel directly to Cambridge, MA. by T-Warrior on Tuesday, November 03, 2009
The travel book series Let's Go will usually list the cheapest and most effective ways to travel from the airport or train stations in many larger cities. I always get a Let's Go USA each year. You can also check the airport website under transportation and you should see a list of options. by alibrarian on Tuesday, October 20, 2009
The T is AMAZING! When the infamous northeastern snowstorm of last December wreaked havoc on flights and stranded lots of Continental passengers in Cleveland, I opted to take an earlier flight to Boston instead of waiting another day to go to Hartford. There is a shuttle that will take you right to the nearest T station, and for just two bucks (!) you can ride out to a suburb where relatives can EASILY pick you up (instead of driving through Boston to get to the airport itself). So easy, and so cheap! Can't recommend it enough. :) Plus, you can easily plan out your route in advance on their website: http://mbta.com by Rae on Tuesday, October 20, 2009
Will be completing a cruise and disembarking at Leem Chabang, Thailand. What is the most economical way to get to the city and to the Imperial Queen Park Hotel, 199 Sukhumvit Soi 22, Bangkok? Many thanks. by Jalen8 on Saturday, October 17, 2009
The traffic through the tunnel from Logan can be interminable, as well, while the train has its own system--no traffic at all. AND you get dropped off right in the center of Harvard Square, and how cool is that? by mickisue on Saturday, October 17, 2009
Cabs from Logan to Cambridge cost closer to $40, tip and tunnel costs included. Without traffic, and the Big Dig has indeed helped with that, a 20-minute trip is quite possible. The T can take around 45 minutes to Harvard Sq. and costs $2 with a Charlie ticket, available at machines in all the terminals. The Silver Line bus to South Station and then a change to the Red Line subway inbound is the easiest route. by Cantabridgian on Thursday, October 15, 2009
