Q. Why do those calendars on the booking sites (that shall remain nameless) show all those available dates, which then disappear when you attempt to book them? It's so annoying!

Airfares spiked a few months ago when gas hit $4.00 a gallon. Was there a commensurate reduction when gas prices came back down to earth, or are the airlines artificially keeping fares high?
