Save Money With our Handy-Dandy Fee Charts!

Question  It would be nice if you could keep track of and periodically report not only luggage fees, but also pet in cabin fees and other assorted hidden costs. The charge to bring a cat on board in a carrier that will fit under the seat in front of you can be more than the human fare.

Answer   Your wish is our command!  Actually, we've already done that and would like to take this opportunity to remind everyone that the links to all our handy-dandy fee and comparison charts are on the Airfare Watchblog page and right here on the Travel Q&A page. (Scroll down, look on the right hand side of the page for the list,  and then click on the link for the chart that you need.) You can pick from our Frequent Flyer Fee Chart, our Baggage Fee Chart, our Miscellaneous Fees Chart, our Shipping vs Checking Luggage Chart, our Rule 240 Chart and our Flexible Date Search Comparison Chart!

I have flown my cat and once two of my sweeties on flights from LA to Toronto, never once did they make a sound and no-one on board except the kind flight attendant were aware they were under the seat. Take a Clariton and be aware that some people love their animals.

No charts in my margins, either! But I'd love to have them availabe. What's a Rule 240? My cockatiels would not survive the temperature of the "animal section" of the plane. I don't know if they would make any noise in the cabin. I can't afford to take them anyway.

I for one would NOT appreciate a cat being on board an airplane I was on - I am deathly allergic to them. Bringing a cat on a plane shows you have no respect for others. Do I have to now make sure there are no animals in the passenger cabin before I board a plane??? Put the cat back where they put the other animals on a plane!!

I've been clicking around the site trying to find the charts you mention above, but I'm unable to find any of them in the Watchblog or the Q&A. Could you provide a clearer path?

The request for that information begs the question--why does anyone need to bring a cat (or a dog, for that matter) on board a plane?
Why - because we live in two places - we can't leave the cat home alone for six months. Our cat doesn't cry on the plane and most people haven't even realized that there was a cat onboard!

The request for that information begs the question--why does anyone need to bring a cat (or a dog, for that matter) on board a plane? I have cats myself, but would not consider subjecting my fellow passengers to the non-stop crying that would ensue, if I tried to bring one in a carrier on a plane. PEOPLE barely belong on planes with the cost cutting associated with lower fares. Crying babies? At least they're human, and they tire and stop. Crying cats can go on for HOURS. And yowling dogs--same thing. Sheesh.
