I'm thinking of getting my grandson one of those airline gift cards for a Hanukkah. I've seen Southwest and JetBlue advertised. Is there one discount airline that is better or more flexible than another for the gift cards. Can the gift cards be used in combination with other deals? Thank you for any advice on these cards you can give me. A. I would go with Southwest. They have fewer fees, make it incredibly easy to change travel dates, and allow passengers to rebank the value of the ticket for up to a year. JetBlue would be my second choice. Both offer card values of up to $1000, and neither will expire. Post a Comment
The previous poster brings up an inportant distinction. VOUCHERS are free airline tickets--and they are behind FF miles in line for seats on planes. Airlines give them for voluntary bumping instead of credits/cash, and they know they probably won't have to honor them. If you buy gift certs, be sure that they're useable as cash for flights. by mickisue on Friday, December 11, 2009
I have used SWA several times in the past. Ordering was easy, people who got them found them easy to use. by DLC on Thursday, December 10, 2009
I dont know about their gift cards, but last year had 2 free sky vouchers to use on Delta--good any states, including Alaska, Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico-- and I jumped all the hoops, and practically stood on my head in the corner, to no avail. These vouchers were good as worthless. Every city I could think of within 400 miles and was told I couldnt use them. I finally used them in Feb of this year--domestically, and yet couldnt use them out of local airport. Had to drive 4 hrs to another. My experiences with Delta/Northwest has not been good the past couple years. by ndmom8 on Tuesday, July 28, 2009
I would go with Southwest as they do not charge for baggage. I used to fly Jet Blue but I am getting ready to take my first trip with Southwest since what you see with charges is what you get and nothing extra. Forget all the others. by traveler on Tuesday, July 28, 2009
