Q. I noticed that CheapAir.com scrapped their "my dates are flexible" search feature. Do you recommend another site that is similar to CheapAir with a flex date search? Why would CheapAir.com get rid of their flex search? Please advise.
A. CheapAir says they will re-launch their 360 flexible date search in the next few weeks. No other site currently does a full year's flexible date search. Travelocity used to, but owing to new DOT tax-included rules they disabled it. Hopefully they'll re-introduce it soon.

Orbitz use to have flexible search too, but I can only access it now if I go through the link on airfarewatchdog, look for a fare that has been found on orbitz and give it a try

Now that we're retired, my husband and I like to take 'spur of the moment' trips. Are there any site where you can by cost from my home airport on any given day rather than destination?

Just booked 1st flight since the new regs about full price went into effect.
It was so much easier to determine prices! The airlines are still able to show us how much tax we are paying, but at least now there is no sticker shock when you make a selection!
