I live in Michigan, about a six-hour drive from Toronto, but the fare from Michigan is $1,450 round-trip whereas it's $887 departing from Toronto. I've been across the Canadian border many times and never had a problem. Is their something that I should be concerned about that I'm not considering? Post a Comment
What is this ADP or equivalent acronym which will be implemented by the UK on all inbound flights effective April 2012.

Instead of driving (12 hours, RT) why not fly on a separate ticket DET-YYZ round trip before and after the Rome trip? by Edward on Wednesday, January 25, 2012
A $560 savings looks nice, but think it through. Twelve hours of driving means paying for gas and parking, border crossing tolls, etc. Let's say the total value of all of those is $100 in gas, parking your car for a week at Pearson is $84, and then say $20 is expenses for the road to and from, that's $204. Now you're saving $356. Divide the savings by the time, and you're saving less than $30 an hour. With you already travelling 10hrs in the air, that drive time will be pretty rough. So the question really is, would you pay yourself $354 to make the drive. by Jake-M on Wednesday, January 25, 2012
If you are using Air Canada you could also look at leaving from Windsor or Sarnia depending where you live in Michigan. It may only be a $100 return extra to your ticket and would save you some driving. Also, parking your car at these small airports is cheaper. It won't work with Air Transat as they only fly out of Toronto. by Satchmo on Wednesday, January 25, 2012
