I flew 'Economy Plus' (I'm a 'Premier' frequent flyer with United - over 25,000 miles/year) and had an aisle seat, so I was quite comfortable. I slept most of the way (it was a 9 a.m. departure out of Dulles, and my Supershuttle picked me up at 5:50a, so I was tired!). At some point on the trip, ate a falafel sandwich which I'd brought with me, so I can't discuss United's food options. The flight attendants were OK - nothing to rave about. The plane wasn't quite full, and no one seemed to have trouble with overhead space & carry-ons. We arrived early due to a tailwind. My baggage arrived in a timely manner. I was pleased with the flight.

Paid to get on another flight as flight to SFO was +1 hour late and the shuttle to final destination was not available. US Air phoned that the flight was running behind so that worked well.

Lines get longer; personal attention no longer exists (with rare exception). And being a million miler has no rewards and few benefits.

And the facilities at IAD are almost pre-historic, esp. the Red Carpet club. Will the merger w/Continental improve the already barely-bearable realities of being a long-time United flyer? Hope so, but not optimistic.

First time we've flown Virgin America and enjoyed it enormously. Seats were comfortable and the seat computer screen for ordering food/drink or entertainment was fabulous on our cross country flight. Definitely will fly VA again!

Amazing you don't even get peanuts now! The seats were so mashed together that it really put a big damper on the experience. I couldn't believe that a reasonable amount of room was up for sale as "Economy Plus". I was glad we took the redeye home so that we didn't waste a day being uncomfortable, just a night!

Well-fit into our budget, flight was on time and service was moderate. It's first time we took Virgin America flight, not knowing meal plan not included and each check-in bag cost $25. Next time I think we will well prepared : )

I had never flown before--at 50 years of age! The experience was unbelievable. Got a free "first flight" drink. the attendants were great, check in was great. Scenery during the flight was unbelievable. And I loved the in-flight tracker screen that showed where the plane was during the trip. Planning to fly again in a few months---it will definitely be Virgin for me!

    1. No food of any kind was served without a charge for a 5 1/2 hour flight. All charges are taken by credit card on the television screen, including head sets and movies.

    2. Airline hosts were rude and uninterested. They read magazines and books after one round of drinks.

    3. An old man escorting 2 children and a dog asked for a pillow. The reply: "You can bring your own."

    4. A child with learning disabilities traveling alone was told to use "his credit card" if he was hungry.

    5. We did arrive safely and without incident.

    6. The seats were very uncomfortable.

We always try to fly United or non-stop flights, but didn't know they stopped giving out blankets and pillows. The cabin was freezing without blankets and this was new to us. We will dress long pants next time.
