unfortunately, an inconsiderate woman with a child under 3 months was flying directly in front of me. the child screamed as if it was being killed and it's likely that is exactly how the poor baby felt. the mom was a complete space cadet and sort of laughing it off. the child suffered, the 90 passengers on board suffered and the mom chuckled. when other passengers asked to assist her in getting off the plane, she wasn't distraught and didn't indicate in anyway that she was travelling for bereavement or illness purpose. she was just self-centered and clueless. but for emergencies -- that is, illness or death -- people who CHOOSE to have children bear the benefits and BURDENS of children, one of which is not being able to come and go as easily as one would without kids. it's not fair to the rest of us who either don't have kids or didn't bring them along, that we must be subjected to two hours of blood curdling screaming because of the selfishness of others.
