The flight to DTW arrived on time, but no one was there to allow the aircraft to park at the gate. When the Jetway driver arrived, she ran over the aircraft ECS duct, so they had to get it out from under the wheels. Once the passengers were allowed to deplane, I had 20 minutes to cross from one terminal to the far end of the third terminal. I got aboard as the door was being closed. The first flight attendant (I was in the exit row) snidely commented 'you were not here when I gave the safety check (like I was at fault) can you operate the exit door'? When I told her I was a Gold Level flyer, who routinely rides in the exit row... when she cut me off and demanded 'Is that a yes or No'? I replied it is a yes. At this point the main flight attendant rushed forward and in a challenging tone said something like ' are you interfering with the flight crew'? I felt she was trying to elevate this well beyond the actual situation. I responded with a 'No" and let it drop. I plan to avoid this route on all future flights.

Of course, if everyone pays the early check in fee, you are back to ground zero. Every seat was taken, babies crying, 40 minutes on the tarmac....the usual airplane nightmare. The attendants did their best and on both flights at the end, attendant over the loud speaker said...."at least it's better than driving."

It was a good flight..not too crowded and reasonably comfortable.

The return flight on 28 August was another matter. That flight was entirely full and was not comfortable. I would rate that flight as average.

Since plane was full airline asked if anyone wanted to check carryons at the gate which we did. This meant no fee and first off the plane for pickup.
