We flew United Express from DFW to IAD. The flight left Dallas on time but 2 hours into the flight, the pilot said that there was weather in route and they were putting planes into holding patterns. A few minutes later, the pilot that they did not have enough fuel to stay in the holding pattern and so we had to make an unscheduled stop at Lexington Ky to take on fuel. We landed, waited to go to a place to be refueled, went to a place to get refueled, waited for the fuel truck, refueled, waited for someone to bring the paperwork, and then were told that there was now a weather hold for planes in the area. We finally left after a 2 hour delay in Lexington and arrived 3 hours late. The return trip to Dallas was delayed because they had to wait for the crew for the plane. After boarding all the passengers, we waited for the co pilot to come back from his pizza run (He left to get a take out pizza and passengers on the left side could see him climbing the steps w/pizza box in hand.) We then had to wait in line for takeoff and ended up taking off over an hour and half late. I will never, ever fly United Express again.

Check in fairly easy. Nothing exceptional, good or bad. Did arrive a little early.Nice smooth flight, left right on time.

We were delayed flying from Munich, Germany on a United Ariline flight (Boeing 777 - miserable plane) due to problems with the public address system. We arrived at Dulles about one hour late. We were then to fly on a United flight to DFW. Originaly had about 2+ hours between flights. After clearing immigration we "ran" to catch the DFW flight, but United had already boarded it and would not let us on. United knew the Munich flight was delayed and could have held the flight for those having connections but didn't. We had minimal assistance from United in helping us get on a later American airline flight to DFW. We never intend to use United again, will avoid Dulles (poorly configured) at all costs and try to only fly on airbus aircraft internationally.
