Although I am scared of flying and only get on a plane when I have to, I was very pleased with the service on this AirTran flight.

flight out: left on time--arrived early! full can of soda, 2 bags of peanuts--just 2 carry-ons and no checked baggage made it easy for us flight back: left just a few minutes late--arrived on time--asked for can of tomato juice, received glass--only one bag of peanuts

We were packed like sardines. Herded like cattle and definitely no frills. Luggage crammed in every nook and cranny. Flight was supposedly a sale flight, but still expensive for me since my end destination is a hub. Could have flown to a further location far cheaper. Flight attendants looked tired and weary, like it isn't fun anymore (if it ever was). Southwest just bought AirTran so we will see what this means for fliers, AirTran employees and flights between here and there.

Like so many air travelers today the biggest negative is the delays. We boarded on time. In fact the last 4 or 5 flights I have been in my seat on time. The jet taxis from the gate, but comes to a stop on the way to take-off. And then you sit. Sometimes 45 minutes waiting because of flight backup or delays at some airport 1500 miles away. The seats are bad and there you are...stuck. The AC is not functioning as it could be. No water. Can't get up to relieve oneself in the restroom. It is unpleasant and I grow weary. I try to fly early in the mornings when I can to avoid the afternoon and evening problems. Sometimes it is not possible though.

On the return trip from Atlanta to DC, the aircraft had a leaky pressure valve on its doorway. Due to this, the departure from Atlanta was delayed by an hour and half. Also, the pressure valve continued to malfunction and was hissing constantly throughout the flight. Add to this we hit a patch of turbulence which made the whole experience even more scary. Although, the co-pilot did come out and explain to all the passengers that the leaky valve did not pose any immediate danger and the aircraft was in good shape to fly all the way to DC.
