I'd never flown Frontier before and it was all very average...friendly crew, on-time, beverage service, warm chocolate chip cookies. The thing that really impressed me was my flight home...there was bad weather in Kansas City, delaying my outgoing flight there, but they managed expectations very well and we ended up departing earlier than expected. When we got to Kansas City, they asked that all DCA flyers be let off the plane first b/c they were holding the flight for us. Ended up getting in ahead of schedule overall.

Airfarewatch found us a great rate (1/2 of what the fare had been a week earlier).

We were notified that our flight had been cancelled at 3PM via email. We were already at the airport and didn't know until we tried to check our bags. We ended up on a better flight non stop on Alaska Air. Returning on the 8th Delta did it again. Our flight out of SEA was late meaning we had no chance of making our connection in Salt Lake city ( still haven't been there) so we were switched to another flight through Detroit.

Not very reliable - kudos to the Dela staff for accomodating us.

I fly a lot but not very often on Frontier. Due to mechanical difficulties, my flight from DCA to SEA had a 2.5hr delay. This caused a missed connection to SEA through Denver. Frontier staff handled the displaced crowd with great courtesy and gave us choices. I could have gone to Denver and stayed in a hotel overnight with connection to SEA the following day or stay in DC and fly out the next morning. I chose the later. I was put up in the Hilton near the airport which had a shuttle. I had a great flight home the next morning. I had upgraded my ticket on the flight out of DC but this new flight didn't have the upgraded seats. Frontier honored the upgrade during my stop over in Kansas City and I had a more than an enjoyable flight home. They also told me that the $25 upgrade fee would be refunded if they couldn't place me in an upgrade seat. So, the entire experience went smoothly and I was home by noon Seattle time the day after I had intended. Highly recommend Frontier.

I took a flight on Delta (going to) and with U.S. Airways (returning) on the week of September 20th, 2010. It went very smoothly and was very surprised by Delta's service (I had been warned against traveling with them before). It would have been nice to check in my bags (I didn't because of the $25+ charge) and being able to catch an earlier flight for free, was missed (hah, try $50). All in all it was a pleasant flight and I will be looking forward to doing it again next year!

Plane travel used to be fun; no more. And until airlines start charging for carry-on luggage the boarding process will continue to deteriorate. That said, this flight was no worse and no better than most I've taken recently. (Delta gets a Tailwaggin' for the great cookies they pass out -- free of charge!). Airlines really need to figure out a way (and not necessarily one that costs lots of $$) that will put the smile back on the faces of their passengers. A little goes a long way.
