"Get seats at the gate" are five scary words... sometimes you get them, sometimes you are left behind. We waited and finally got them on our trip to DFW, but only because I pleaded with the agent because we were going to a funeral. On the way back our flight was canceled for no reason (aircraft out of service???)(10:20 AM) and we were rebooked on a 5:20 PM flight, and lost the whole day. And, again, had to get seats at the gate.

It was my third flight experience in the air. I had never been on a plane. When I got on my first flight coming from McAllen and going to Washington Dulles Airport, we had a connective flight in Dallas, TX. On my first flight, my stomach was aching (my nerves were kicking in), I felt like vomiting and I was sweating terribly my feet and hands were so sweaty. Unbelievable but true. I was not able to sleep on the plane. Then on our return, which I thought no problem. I could manage now since I was ready to leave the area and get back to my routine at home. Well the problem arose that we could not leave Washington DC because there was a problem with the RADAR. Anyway, it was announced and the customer service line was so long that by the time we got there many other people that didnt have a connective flight were able to be attended first. I think the attendant should of gone throught the line and monitored that those with connective flights were attended first. That was not the case, we left four hours later to Dallas Airport. Upon our arrival at Dallas we stayed the night in which AA was able to book a room, but the room was cold. I didnt like the stay. I woke up at 5am because I wanted to eat breakfast and head out early to the airport. Well the plane was suppose to leave at 8:30, but it ended up leaving at 11am. Delays, delays... For my first flight, I guess it was an experience to remember. Will I fly again? I'm considering in taking another airline, but who knows MONEY TALKS!!

MY DAUGHTER AND I WERE NEAR THE END OF THE LINE WHEN WE GOT ON THE PLANE; HAD ONE CARRY ON TO PUT IN THE ABOVE STORAGE. NEEDLESS TO SAY, WHEN WE GOT TO OUR SEATS THERE WAS NO SPACE FOR OUR CARRY ON. YOU ARE SUPPOSE TO BOARD BY ZONES, BUT I DO NOT THINK ANYONE PAID ATTENTION TO THAT; SO IN ORDER FOR THEM TO GET SOME SPACE FOR CARRY ON THEY BOARDED WHEN THEY WANTED. WHEN ARRIVED AT DFW, PEOPLE FROM THE FRONT OF THE PLANE HAD STORED THEIR CARRY ONS ABOVE OUR SEATS LEAVING US WITH NO WHERE TO PUT OURS. WE WERE ABLE TO CHECK THE BAG FREE OF CHARGE, BUT THAT IS NOT THE POINT. I WOULD DEFINITELY AGREE ON AIRLINES CHARGING FOR CARRY ONS BECAUSE OF OUR SITUATION. THANKS.
