Could not check in for pay for baggage prior to flight, received the message we had not been assigned seats even though we booked this flight in January 2011. When we arrived at Tampa Airport everything was self check-in and they only had 4 people working and the lines were long. They did not take you in order of self-check in but it seemed to be random since someone 4 groups behind us were checked in before us, caused a lot of grumbling from the people in line. We had a layover in Dallas and once again our seats were not assigned and we had to wait until we arrived in Dallas to see if we would be on the next flight. My husband and I have flown American 3 times in the last year and this will be our last time, every time we have been seated by the engines and on the smaller planes the noise in horrible, once would have been acceptable but every time is way too much. Additionally when we were finally offered a beverage the attendant threw the napkins at us, poor service and big attitudes. They fall all over 1st class and do very little for "economy" who are the people who keep the plans flying.

The flight was average. The check-in and security check were very quick so that was good. The in-flight service was okay. The flight attendants were nice, but it would have been nice to have been offered a second drink and a snack. The cabin was very cold and the seats were extremely uncomfortable. I could not find a comfortable position the entire flight and was extremely stiff and sore by the time we arrived at our final destination.

Although my flights were good, the layover in Dallas was quite long (4 hrs). I would prefer a non-stop flight, but it appears no airline has one from Tampa to Colorado Springs!
