Whiny travelers make for grumpy airline employees at gates & en route.

SEA/IAH: 8:20am departure. The flight was sold out, but not overbooked. Gate attendants had a carryon sizer and required people to test their large bags. The more people who whined & pleaded & argued that they had brought their carryons to Seattle with no problem, the less flexible the gate attendants became. Sure enough, at least a dozen people had to gate check bags. They were unhappy, and at least two directed it towards the attendants during flight with predictable results.

IAH/SEA: 9:20am departure, possibly overbooked. I volunteered to be bumped at checkin, but not needed. No sizer, much smoother boarding.

I have always wondered why with the limited space in coach, why the seats have the ability to lean back. On a 4+ hour flight on the person in front of you fully lean back and try to lean further back. It makes you space very small.

Any more it's just cattle car atmosphere. And the latest twist is that everyone thinks they can MOVE my ONE carryon however and whereever they please to make room for theirs. have had several confrontations.
