First of all, Delta's check-in procedure at Sea-Tac needs improvement. I checked in online and was told I could then take my bag to a "baggage drop," which was supposed to be quick and painless. The baggage drop is actually a very long line of people, much like the actual ticketing line. I gave up on it and ended up going back out to the curb to use the Skycap service. The plane itself was quite nice. I was impressed with the legroom. I'm only 5'5", but my knees didn't bump the seatback and I could actually cross my legs. The in-flight entertainment was very nice. A nice selection of TV and music and free trivia helped me pass the time. Everything was great except for the beverage service. I was running late at the airport and wasn't able to buy a bottle of water before the flight. Drinks weren't offered until well into the flight, and I could not get them to give me a full can of apple-cranberry juice. As a pregnant woman traveling with a child, I was hoping for something more than one cup of juice for the two of us to share. Two cups might have been nice. A full can would have felt luxurious! At least I requested it without ice. One more pour was offered a few hours later. By then we were ready to lick the remnants from other people's cups. I would take this flight and this airline again, but I would absolutely bring my own drinks next time. Delta, please let pregnant women have the whole can! We get thirsty!

We were really surprised by the "little" things - still a complimentary meal, the flight attendants even gave the kiddies a set of wings like we used to get as kids (who knew they still made those!). The return flight was delayed to try to accommodate another large group that had missed their connector due to a customs backlog - nice to know that they worked so hard to get these folks home. To make up for the delay for the rest of us, free TV and drinks were provided which was a nice gesture. All in all, we were quite impressed!

Best thing about Southwest is pleasant service most of the time. Traveling is stressful, but they usually take the edge off. Cabin crew kept us well-informed of all the important stuff, and all went smoothly.
