Alaska airline's 737-800 planes are sized right. I am small, at 5'1" and I hate seats that are so large that my feet dangle and I can't reach the air or light controls. On this plane, my legs rest comfortably on the floor and if I stretch, I can reach the controls above my head.
The web-check-in is great, I did check a bag since I hate the hassle of trying to get a space onboard and lifting my bag above my head. The $20 fee is terrible. And, I was traveling with my 12-year-old, and we did bring one bag on board, and it really wasn't that difficult to get it in the overhead bins, but I wouldn't want to attempt trying to find a spot for two bags.
The food was very good. I bought us each a pasta primavera with a piece of garlic bread for $6 each. The soda or juice choices are extensive and free, with a free refill. We also got free packs of pretzels that are gourmet-ish in their seasonings. On the flight home, I bought my son a deli snack pack for $6 and he got full, and I nibbled the rest of his crackers, biscotti, and salami that was leftover.
I've been on flights with those digiplayers at $10, but if I recall, this time was under $8 and they even gave us two earphone sets, and a splitter. When they were collecting the digiplayers, they also collect the splitters. You can keep the earphones. On the flight home, they did not have splitters.
Using a credit card for the food and entertainment is easy and fast.
Overall, a very smooth travel experience.

Alaska Airlines is one of the bests out there. The prices are right, the seating is great and the service cant be beat. This trip was as wonderful as all the rest. would definately recommend them.

There were broken seats that had to be replaced before we could board. Otherwise flight met my expectations. Great crew.
