In the past I've never had issues showing up to the airport early and boarding an earlier flight if available on most artiness. I'm at SJC 2 hours early the earlier flight was about half full and Southwest want me to pony up a $112 change flight. Not putting me on an earlier flight actually helps us both, I'm a happy customer home earlier and southwest has ability to take others on my later flight. Instead of me leaving early I have 2 hours to kill and free WiFi, hope you like the review I wrote in my now free spare time..
