“no lines and decent leg room”

Flight was good except for the "digeplayer" to watch movies. I didn't expect food so not surprised,but got cookies and nuts for free. The luggage was 20 per bag instead of 25 or more as I was expecting. Leg room was pretty good, I usually am fine but my husband always complaints and he didn't. Fast check in at both airports. Would fly Alaska again!

There was a mechanical on the plane so we left two hours late. The flight was uneventful and we arrived safely. The flight crew were great, they had to put in a couple of extra hours, but the were good at their jov.

United is terrific when it comes to on-time arrivals and departures; unfortunately, the class system there is alive and well. The lowest fare class is "economy", and it's hard to express how tight the seating is: Let's just say that if your neighbor in the seat in front of you lets their seat back, you can touch their bald spot with the tip of your nose."Economy plus" gives the passenger a whopping two more inches of knee space for considerable dollars. And where did this miraculous space come from? By cramming seats together in "economy". Shame on you, United.

The Flight was not full and everyone was helpful with my husband who is disabled. The flights were generally nice flights.

It is bad enough to have to BUY a meal on board, but there was not enough food on board for all the passengers and many went hungry on a 5 hour flight to Hawaii.
I think this is unacceptable.
Boo United.
However, the pilot was great and not a bump all the way across the Pacific.

“Unfriendly Flight Attendants”

I have to say that this was my first experience with the most unfriendliest flight attendants on any flight we've every taken with United. You would have thought it would have killed them to crack a smile or two. In-flight food for purchase? Where? When? Menu was in seat pocket, but no offer made? Flight too short?
I guess it was a bad day for flying United from SFO to OGG.

The flights and flight attendants were great. I was extremely impressed with the food. Being a lifelong vegetarian I am used to not finding food anywhere. The Cedar Lane "breakfast burrito" that was served was meat and egg free and delicious. My meat loving husband loved it too. The guava juice they serve is always a plus too.
One major negative was checking bags. We had purposefully tried to check only one bag. It was fine on our way out, but on our way back the lady made us check our small rolling suitcase. It still had the "approved for carry on" sticker on it! She tore it off and said there were new rules. It seemed odd to us since our trip was only a week long- I think they were just her rules! We were not happy about it, tried arguing, and then decided the $25 shouldn't ruin our island glow. I understand some people push the bag limit, but we weren't even close. Also a bag that makes it one way should make it back without having to be checked. On our way from SD to Hawaii the Hawaiian employees were very polite and helpful, so I guess the very bad and the very good experience makes their average somewhere in the middle.
