while i appreciate the timeliness and safety of the flights i am really appalled by the lack of service. i think technology is wonderful and don't mind my own self service but i would like a bit more caring while on the plane itself.

here is my litany

first i book my own tickets, then i print my own baording pass. cannot check bags unless i want to pay more. bulk head seats and first exit rows cost $49.00 more for 5" more space. Bring my own food and blanket if necessary. And yet airlines have posted high profits. there should be some middle ground for us poor economy passengers.

and since i booked an aisle seat i was in group 4 for boarding and we are told there was probably not going to be room for our carry-ons. we can check at the gate but must wait in baggage area for bag. yes that part was free and i may consider it next time.

oh for the days of cross country flights on wide bodies and that lovely new york deli lunch from west to east!
