I miss Aloha Airlines and their direct flights to Maui, but Alaska is beginning to take up some of the slack. That being said, flying to Honolulu first isn't that bad. The flight from the mainland to the islands was great. Newer 767, and it was very comfortable and quiet. The seat backs were narrow, so there seemed to be a little extra room. On the return flight we had what appeared to be an older 767 (no winglets?). Leg room seemed reduced and the seats were uncomfortable. Overall I was uncomfortable, but you learn to deal with it. My only complaint with Hawaiian Air is the lack of a direct flight, but it's not a huge issue. I do like being able to select seats in a two seat per row configuration for my wife and I, instead of a three seat configuration where one of us gets stuck in the middle.

We upgraded to first class when we checked in. Service was awesome and they really took good care of us. So much that we didn't want to get off the plane! It was so worth the money to upgrade. Had never traveled first class before and will definitely do it again! Unfortunately, we weren't able to upgrade on our return flight due to all first class seats being booked. What a difference our return flight was. However, the service was acceptable but nothing special to write home about.

We found this discounted fare going out of Sacramento to Maui and booked it. Everything was smooth and spotless. On time departures and arrivals. Nice service on the plane. Only aspect to Alaska which I didn't like (but it didn't matter, either) is that they rent "didi-players" to watch movies.

We upgraded our tickets to first class at the airport and it was the best money we have even spent on an airline flight. A nonstop flight to maui from sacramento is only 5.5 hours but not having to change planes is a great plus. All of the staff from Alaska were great friendly and truly pleasant people. The food was very good and the seats were comfy. great start and great finish to a wonderful vacation.

no complaints except for the $20 baggage fee, each way. boxed lunches were $6-7. 2 beverage services. 3 bathrooms in the back. no free movies.the price was great and it was a direct flight.

This was the first time I have flown on Alaska Air lines. The staff was helpful and cheerful. They had good customer service skills.
Flight was comfortable, it was a good price $430 and it was nonstop from Sacramento.
I would take Alaska Air again and recommend it to others.
