“Bags did not make the flight”

I had a connecting flight in DC from Richmond to Pittsburgh. Original flight was late, had to run to connecting flight and barely made it, they had already closed the gangway and had to literally walk me out to the plane on the tarmack. Of course, my bag (that i had paid to fly) did not make the connecting flight. This was at 4:00 in the afternoon. Delivery service called for directions at 11:30 pm and then delivered the bag at 4:00 am (which would not have been a problem except for the fact that my 3 dogs didn't like a strange car arriving at 4:00 am).

Flight was delayed so I couldn't make my connection (no one on the plane could). Had to be rebooked for the next morning. Had to pay for my hotel out of my own pocket, miss part of the meeting I was attending. Considering a similar thing happened on my flight to RIC from Seattle, It was very frustrating.
Overall: lousy trip. Wasted time I hoped to be with friends in airports and hotel that wasn't suppose to be part of the plan.
