I had an excellent trip on US Air with no delays in either direction and both flights departing and arriving on time. The weather was clear, also a big factor.

I do not like Philadelphia airport. I do not like the bathrooms. They broke my suitcase that I had only used two times. My clothes got wet coming back from Philadelphia to RDU. My new blouse that I wore once was ruined. So, you figure it out, suitcase handle can't pull up, suitcase has a gash in it, and then the suitcase is in a bin that the cover isn't probably secured and got wet along with some of my clothes. Philadelphia security personnel were rude. Plus, my butt is getting bigger and the seats are narrower. How do you think my flight was?

Both my flights were on time and check in was easy. There was no drink service one way but they did have it the other way.

It was raining in PHL and every few minutes the airline called us to tell us the flight would be delayed. We arrived at the airport in plenty of time to get the rescheduled flight. But when we showed up, we learned that the flight was cancelled and everyone who had arrived in time to catch the original flight was put on an earlier flight. Anyone who signed up for automatic alerts and arrived as instructed was screwed. The only option United offered was -- spend the night in Raleigh (at our expense) and take a flight the following afternoon. Instead, we went over to Southwest, who was flying despite the rain, and got right on a flight. That flight was fine. They even offered us a snack.

Being a silver preferred dividend miles traveler I was suprised to find out at boarding that my seat 2-C was taken. I was TOLD my new seat was 19-B. However this plane had no B seats and D was already taken by a young child. After two attemps by the flight attendent I was PLACED in 19-A.

Southwest embarrasses you if you are overweight. They want you to buy 2 seats and they want you to sit in the seat to see if you fit with the arm rests down. Shame on you Southwest....this is discrimination in the first degree!!
