Body scanner inoperative due to no operator. Consequently, I went through the most extensive manual scan and pat down ever. I understand the need but it seemed overly thorough. I have had two total hip replacements and the scanner went off (of course) and seemed to make me a suspicious person. The TSA employee was polite but if I had a tight schedule to catch a flight, I probably would have missed it.

Flights were all on time Saeting is just too tight. I could just barely get my tray table down.
While nothing can be done, because I have had two total hip replacements (with titanium parts), I got an extra lengthy wanding and pat down. This is the one major item that deters me from flying. I only fly when there is no viable alternative. I was told that the body scanner would have made life simpler but there was no one available to operate it; so, I had to go the tortuous method. Guess it takes a doctorate in engineering to operate.
