I was very hesitant about flying Delta after I decided to leave SkyTeam last year, but I did not have much of an option considering somebody else was buying my ticket for me. Let's just say, they blew me away! My check-in experience, flight experience (all aspects), and everything else operated flawlessly. All of the employees were helpful and courteous. No delays, comfortable seats, not technical problems with anything from checkin to baggage claim. Excellent!

It was just so hard to be comfortable in the seat. On a couple of the flights my seat would not recline and the person in front reclined there seat so I felt cramped and uncomfortable.

I booked a trip to Cincinnati (PDX-SEA-CVG, CVG-SLC-PDX) through Alaska Airlines. However, three of the four legs (all but PDX-SEA) were operated by Delta. The planes were clean and in good repair and everything went through on time. However, when I went to board the SEA-CVG leg I discovered that my Alaska boarding pass (printed at home) did not include the Delta zone number that told me when to board, and I had to exchange it for a Delta boarding pass. Then, when checking in online for the return flight, I found that Alaska's web page requires an origin airport for check-in and CVG was not an option. Fortunately, Alaska had given me a Delta confirmation code and I was able to use that to check in via Delta's web site. Also, on the return flight I paid Delta's $25 bag fee instead of Alaska's $20. If you're going to code-share, you need to support your customers more thoroughly.

The overall flight experience was great. Great flight attendants, great checkin experience, and was ontime for all of my flights. Delta is recommended, although a layover in Salt Lake City is never too fun.
