First flt on American in years. Each leg of the R/T was about 40 minutes late. Part of this was due to the slow boarding process and the ridiculously large carry-on baggage that significantly slowed boarding. With checked bag fees people are stuffing more & more in carry-on and American seemed unwilling to deal with the worst offenders. Some people couldn't even hoist their over-stuffed & overweight bags into the overhead. They needed help. This really slowed things down. As much as I sympathize with the airlines & passengers, this has to be dealt with. Otherwise my full flights were about what I expected. Flt crew worked hard and were efficient (and patient with that over-sized baggage. I never saw them tell anyone that their massive bag needed to be checked (but they should have).
