    “Amtrak connections work - but can be rough”

    This was a "train-plane" combo, which worked quite well from Philly to EWR to Austin. On the way home, there was a glitch because the Amtrak ticket attendant was at lunch when my plane got in, and the automated Amtrak Kiosks are not set up for multi-modal tickets, so I couldn't use the kiosk to print out my Amtrak boarding pass from EWR (Amtrak does not permit you to print out your boarding pass on-line, the way airlines do, for some unknown reason). Luckily the ticket agent returned before my train left, so it turned out fine, but Amtrak really needs to work on their ticket automation!

    Thanks for offering a flight that cost at least $100 less than I could find anywhere. I travel multiple times a year to visit family and I really need to watch my costs. With this price, I was even able to fly on the airline that gives me frequent flyer miles and it was still less expensive than any others. I will be able to fly more frequently if I can get these kinds of deals. Even after missing my flight due to construction, the fee for standby still fell below typical lowest prices.
