I flew IcelandAir for the first time this Thanksgiving and overall it was a great experience. All the employees both on the ground and in the air were very friendly and helpful. The seat backs have amusing Icelandic vocabulary lessons on them and the screens, pre-flight, scroll fun facts about Iceland. The entertainment options on the individual seat-back screens were great, for me. I prefer music to television or movies and I loved getting to listen to whole albums on the long (7 hours) flight to Iceland. I was in an economy class seat, and I cannot say that was better than any others I have been in. However, on my flight back, I had an empty seat next to me and loved putting the arm rest up and having more room for me and my stuff! The only downside is there is absolutely NO free food - not even a pretzel. However, the sandwiches I purchased on both flights were delicious and I was able to wrangle a whole can of Coke out of the flight attendants! If you fly IcelandAir just bring your own food or a credit card to purchase food and you will have a pleasant flight.
