It doesn't take rocket science to know that a flight between Orlando and Atlanta is very short. When there is a packed flight, attendants must know that to serve beverages would have to start when one reaches at least 10,000 ft. Did they start? No. It wasn't until 30 minutes before landing the beverage service started. Slightly half of the flight was served. Then the apologies began. The apologies kept coming all the way to the gate at Hartsfield. Give me a break. Don't bother. If everyone cannot be served, don't serve anyone in economy class. That isn't rocket science either. I have been on a couple of flights that we were told from the get-go there isn't enough time for snacks or beverages. No big deal. Just don't start and stop.

We began our taxi out of the gate when mechanical problems were noticed. Passengers were kept informed by the Delta pilot and ground staff. After a half hour we were told to take our belongings and wait in the terminal until further notice. Ground personnel at the ticket counter and via the terminal phones were available for passengers who wanted to change their flights. Since my final destination was to SNA/Orange County CA, I asked to be re-routed and was placed on flight connecting in Salt Lake City. Delta gave me a $6.00 meal voucher and a $50 credit on my next Delta flight for the inconvenience. I arrived home 1 hr. 45 min. later than expected. I thought Delta handled the situation as good as could be expected.
