What a surprise to NOT to suffer the usual hassles one finds these days. First we checked in at curbside. Was it because we arrived early? I can not say for certain but it was indeed better than arriving closer to check in time. My travel companion was charged 60 dollars for two small checked bags. The security procedures were not that involved. I am 6'2" and I was able to fit into the seat with no problem (even with the seat in front of me fully reclined. The food was passable.Yes there were blankets and pillows. The staff was very friendly.

Now was this extraordinary? Yes, because anyone who has flown American or Delta recently knows that any of the above mention is not to be taken for granted. American is about the worse. They charge for everything. They give you nothing to eat unless you pay for it. The planes are old and cramped. Delta is only slightly better. Since mosst of the places that I travel to are monopolize the places I travel to. Unfortunately.

So here's to Continental on its flight from Newark to Honolulu. IT was very good.
