“cumbersome plane change in Philadelphia”

My family lives in Pittsburgh, and I have been traveling there on a direct route from La Guardia on US Airways for over 10 years. Unfortunately, now they are only offering the direct route on weekdays (not weekends, when I typically travel there). So it means a plane change in Philadelphia. Which wouldn't be a big deal, but now the trip takes twice as long, and the change in PHL is not ideal - I had to go from Terminal B to terminal F - which is only accessible by a shuttle bus (if you walk there, you have to be rescreened through security). If you're in a hurry (less than 1/2 hour to change planes), you may be in trouble. When I arrived at terminal F, I was worried when I saw most of the planes were not jets, but tiny prop planes. Thank god, however, this did not apply to my flight, which was on a small regional jet. Still, though, I wish I would have packed lighter, as since my suitcase did not fit in the plane's overheads, it was gate-checked, and I had to wait on the tarmac at LGA for over 15 minutes for it. Fine this time, because the weather was ok, but I will not accept this so willingly in the colder winter months. If you choose this flight, know what to expect!

US Airways is one of the few airlines that flies direct from New York Laguardia to Pittsburgh, so I almost always fly with them on that route. This flight was pretty much like the rest - easy, short, and on-time. Not much to report. Although the plane itself seemed to be very old, and the seats were a bit uncomfortable.
