Our flight pushed back on time, but we were on the tarmac for a long time. Even in aisle seat, there was no leg room, and I am only 5'7"; my knees were braced against the seat in front of me which was not reclined. Aisles are so narrow you cannot put your feet out. Flights are packed - very nervous (thankfully tiny) older woman in center seat, sharing arm rest. When I arrived in MYR I told the friends meeting me they had to wait. I went immediately to the counter & purchased the UPGRADE seat so I could bear the thought of the return flight. Even doing this for only one way, the purchase price was now higher than a flight on a major airline. NEVER AGAIN!

Spirit member customers who are checking luggage should look into the cost of suitcase vs large carry on. It works out cheaper to check luggage when doing it on line. Even if you print your boarding pass you still have to wait on line at airport to check luggage and Spirit makes the customer deliver it to the drop off area.

My first flight on Spirit Airlines was easy to check into, because I planned ahead and didn't bring any checked bags--although they are soon changing their protocol and in August even carry on's will have fee associated with them. ;( The flight itself was 2 hours late with little updates as to why or where it was. And then once we were on the runway we had to wait over an hour till take off, which was a psych out because we charged the runway but at the last minute had to turn back around and return to the back of the take off line. Throughout all this delay, the captain and crew did not share with passengers what was going on or how long we would be on the tarmac until we were just about to take off for real. Even water you had to pay for, and the snacks that were available for purchase were tiny. I asked for a water and never got it. The price of the ticket isn't worth the hassel, and they could learn from other airlines that don't hesistate to relay information to passengers. I can't imagine I'll be flying Spirit Airlines again anytime soon.

Spirit Airlines has demonstrated in the past to be a quality airline with low cost travel prices. They are pretty reliable for on time departures and arrivals, even out of the New York area. it's worth the trip from new jersey to catch this flight to Myrtle Beach.
