I fly Spirit because of the great prices. Well, the flight price is good but once you add on fuel charges, baggage charges (carry on AND checked), overweight baggage fees (you only get 40 lb on Spirit!), picking your seat charges and the added expense of parking your car at LGA, the fare is up to other airlines' prices. And pack your own snacks because a 75 cent Ramen noodle cup is $3 on board. I don't expect much when I fly these days, but I do wish Spirit had a higher standard of cleanliness on the planes. That said, I will probably fly Spirit again, at least so I can use the miles I've racked up on their credit card with all the added fees.

Spirit has really figured out a way to nickel and dime customers. A fee for carry on baggage that goes in the overhead compartment? And it cost $45 if you pay for it at the gate. What a rip off! Very limited leg room. My recent flight had two young men on it who came onto the plane drunk and proceeded to get drunker and louder and more obnoxious. The flight attendants laughed along with them and continued serving them alcohol. I'm disappointed how the quality of Spirit has deteriorated.

After checking in and paying $25 per bag, at the gate, we were told we would have to pay $45 for a carry-on backpack that was slightly larger than their dimensions. Two weeks prior, there was no question about taking the backpack on board. It appears that the rules had changed. Once the ticket agent checked our ticket purchase date, we were told we were grandfathered. The ticket agents at the gate were rude and gave no explanation as to the new rule. They could have been polite, checked and then informed us of the change. This was the last leg of a trip from the Middle East and we promised ourselves that we would not take another Spirit flight. The low cost does not make up for the nickel and diming, or for the rudeness.

Nice short flight, barely enough time to be served a drink. You get peanuts, pretzels, or cookies for free. The flight attendant played games with the passengers over the intercom. Fun.

Good thing I was grandfathered in the carry-on luggage. It would have cost more than the plane ticket for baggage. Just didn't expect to pay $3.00 for a can of soda. this used to be free!!!!!!!!! come on stop draining us.

Our flight was delayed due to weather, so I can't blame Spirit. However, the way their gate agents handled the customers with issues relating to the delays was one of the worst examples I have ever experienced. HORRENDOUS! One gate agent was actually yelling at the passengers. I understand they are a low-cost carrier, but people are still people with lives and jobs to get home to, or long-saved for vacations to get to. If its your only option, just be prepared. Otherwise, with all the added charges ... carry-on baggage fee, checked baggage fee, seat selection fee, $3 beverage fee.... you are much better off on Delta or a carrier of that ilk. After you add in all their "fees" it costs pretty much the same. SPIRIT....YOU NEED TO INVEST IN CUSTOMER SERVICE TRAINING FOR YOUR EMPLOYEES AND YOU NEED TO CHANGE YOUR PHILOSOPHY AND CULTURE IN THE WAY YOU DEAL WITH YOUR CUSTOMERS. WE HAVE CHOICES AND I WOULD ENCOURAGE EVERYONE TO CHOOSE A DIFFERENT AIRLINE!
