I had an aisle seat in both directions and was very comfortable considering it was a 10+hour flight and really had no problems or complaints

This is our first business class flight. We were very impressed by the outstanding service rendered by Delta personnel. From check-in to debarkation, we felt like valued guests.

The only drawback was the 10 hour night in the reclining seats. Delta is slowly replacing their business class seats, but our 747 plane still had the old Northwest seats. They do not recline flat, but rather angle downward. They were too short for my 5'9 frame and the angle caused excruciating back pain no matter how I tried to rearrange myself. I ended up raising the legs as far as they would go and reclining the head slightly and managed to at least doze for a couple of hours in that position. Maybe the new seats will be better.

That being said, this is probably the only business flight we'll ever take. We were hoping to sleep the night away and would have done about as well in Economy at half the price.

The only problem I had was at Kennedy. You had to board the plane between 1 and 2 hours preflight. Luckily I was there. No where did I read or was I told that the boarding would be early. It was not like that in Tel Aviv although I was there extra early anticipating the earlier boarding. I am curious as to whether all airlines do that now.

El Al always feels very safe. Security is key. Coach seat comfort leaves something to be desired. It may be time to upgrade the fleet of 787-400s. Food is adequate and the attention is just enough to make you feel human.

The lounges in jfk and tlv were dirty and poorly stocked. The seat felt like a wooden park bench. The food was not bad and the staff was pleasant.

    Delta's Food is Awful

Maybe I am asking for too much, but on an 11 hour flight, you can get pretty hungry and would like some decent food served. The food on Delta is quite awful. The chicken for dinner was like dried out shoe leather. Breakfast was inedible, except for the banana. My seat was slightly broken, in that it kept sliding back, even when I wanted to be upright - poor maintenance!

Flight from New York to Istanbul was delayed for more than 4 hours. As the result we missed our connection flight from Istanbul to Tel Aviv. In Istnbul Turkish airlines personal had no idea that we where late and did not know what to do with us. It took some time untill they issued us new tickets for the different connecting flight. The rest of the trip and returning trip was good. The food and service is very good.

I was very satisfied with the airline in all respects. The staff was polite and helpful and the seat was reasonably comfortable.

The security people at CDG on the way back were unneccesarily mean and nasty. I'll make strenuous efforts not to pass through that airport again
