This was the worst flight ever. Seats so uncomfortable I had to sit on a pillow. I am 5'1" and average weight and I felt like I was being swallowed by passengers. We had no music or TV both trips and when we asked for a deck of cards, they wanted to charge us $20!!!! NEVER WILL I FLY THIS AIRLINE AGAIN. THE STAFF WAS NOT ACCOMMODATING AT ALL.

Felt almost discriminated against having a discounted fare that I purchased thru airfare watchdog. Could not check my bag in NY without paying, reception in Rome was terrible they didn't know the class of the ticket. Almost wasn't accepted. Had to combine two bags into one by a vendor there for E18, or pay 60 euro to check 2 bags. Meals were different than the rest of the flyers and whe I asked for the same the attendant said NO! The Iberia flight attendants were rude and unfriendly. They even change my pre selected seating. (to the back of the plane). I loved the fare I got but have to be ready for some inconveniences.

Good overall service but not great. Worth the miles we used but I would never pay the retail price for this service and seat.

Delta never told us that our codeshare flight to Italy required us to go to Alitalia to check in, etc. I only found out because I called them to ask why I wasn't able to checkin online. I would have gone to the wrong terminal. Also, Delta didn't tell us that all our confirmation and flight numbers were, therefore, wrong because they were Delta numbers, and Alitalia has their own. But the Alitalia flight was much better than we expected. Unlike on Delta, we were able to check our first bags free, and got free pollows, blankets, meals , beverages and snacks throughout the flight. Also, for those who wanted them, beer and wine were served for free. The personnel were very courteous and we liked that they were dressed like professionals, not like someone who was going to the supermarket. The checkin was organized and went quickly and smoothly. Really, we were shocked by how Alitalia operated since we had read horror stories. Only downer_ very cramped seating.

While the planes themselves are OK, the service aboard Alitalia flights - and because we own a home in Italy we fly here ofteh - is lukewarm at best. The flight attendants are barely civil and do the bare minimum to make passengers feel comfortable and welcome. My daughter recently flew home to the US as an unaccompanied minor and our experience leading up to the flight was a nightmare;having been told someone would contact us prior to the flight for our daughter's information, we waited literally months and no one called. We finally had to go to the airport to sort it all out. On flight day my daughter was treated very nicely but the angst leading to that point was infuriating.

My husband & I travelled on AA Airlines points. I am a hemiplegic & need the leg space to prevent spasms, we had plenty of space. Always make sure to go to the business check-in line if you are flying business. Helsinki Airport has a new Business class lounge with massage, sona, pool, exercfise room, etc. Facilities are 1st rate. We had not realized that AA has partner Airlines which include Finnair & Iberia...we returned on Iberia & the seating room was the best! First time in 62 yrs I have actually slept on a planr.

The flight was delayed departing nearly 7 hours (no explanation given). There was less leg room on this 9 1/2 hr. flight than on a 1 hr. flight from NY to Syr. The bathrooms, after a few hours of use were so filthy, my feet stuck to the floor (urine).....why don't men sit down to urinate on a flight if they can't hit the target?

Even if it is the cheapest way to go...avoid Alitalia. The plane was dirty...old...still cigarettes in the ashtrays so you know how old that plane was! Steward and stewardesses were rude and arrogant.Seat were cramped more than usual...and I am not a big person and don't require alot of room...so that tells you just how cramped it was! Food was horrible. two people on our tour got food poisoning! Absolutely the worse EVER! Will not fly ALITALIA ever even if it is the last flight on this eaerth!
