My flight from JFK to Montego Bay Jamaica was cancelled. Then they booked me from La Quardia to Miami. From Miami, I had to take another pllane to Montego Bay. My initial flight was from RDU (Raleigh, NC) to JFK then to Jamaica. If my flight was not cancelled, I should have been in Montego Bay, Jamaica by 3:00 pm that day. Instead, I did not arrived at the resort in Jamaica not until 3:00 AM the following morning. I did not have sleep for more than 24 hours since leaving the hotel in Morrisville, NC. I advise not to take any flight from JFK if you are flying American.

My husband and I go to the Caribbean each year. Flew American 3 years ago and even though we had booked our seats 5 months in advance, American's check-in person seated us in the very last rows and across the aisle from each other on a half-empty plane! Couple that with a takeoff that was delayed 2 hours and I refused to fly them again. However, this year my husband convinced me to give them a second try as their flight times fit our schedule best. I was pleasantly surprised. Their check-in and flight personnel were very helpful, warm and pleasant and our flight arrived in Jamaica on time. Now, if they could only do something about the tight and uncomfortable seating in economy class...ugh!

Have flown with this airline a few times. Always delayed flights out and into JFK. This time AJ bet its own record - spent 16 hours at the airport going to Montego Bay after which the flight was canceled. Had to buy a brand new ticket with a different airline because they had no flights. Going back the flight was delayed by 6 hours. Calling customer service is useless. They cant do anything. Will never fly with them again!
