Have flown Virgin a few times now and like it. I especially like the food system. You order on the screen and they bring it promptly. Definitely continue to fly them. Only complaint...order food early they run out.

I hadn't flown US Airways in many years and have gotten used to the high-tech and trendy Virgin America, so expected the worst. But it was fine, if basic. No TV screen in front of you to watch, no in-flight movies, little food to choose from. But the in-flight crew seemed especially friendly and good-humored, and it was nice to see a flight attendant noticeably over 40 years old, experienced and good-natured.

American provides average service, not at the level of either Jet Blue or Virgin. The service and overall experience was marginally better then a recent flight on Delta though.

Also nice to fly direct to LA. Flight is quick and comfortable. Free wi-fi and good leg room. I always use airfarewatchdog.

Virgin America knows how to market; but they deliver. I find the location at JFK ususally less crowded and the personal pleasant. I flew on Dec. 29th without a problem. I wondered if the smaller airline made them more facile in the face of the choas of the december storm. Negatives are knowable, not as much legroom as Jet Blue (my preferred choice) and $25 for checking first bag (again Jet Blue bests them here with no fee). And I am not impressed with the food that is available. But I knew that going in and the flight was flawless* and I had a reasonable fare. (*well, not quite, the satellite programing didn't work for me either way but that is small by comparison.) I would definitely fly them again.

Flight both ways was very smooth, no bumps at all. Both ways got in early. The return flight got in very early. Movies were good. Meals offered at a price were so-so, but we always bring our own food anyway.

Great seats, great space, great amenities. I always try to fly on this airline! If only LAX could learn how to deal with weather (a little bit of rain and they freak out).

If it wasn't for the high cost of checking a bag, $25, it would have been a very good flight. When I can I will always go SouthWest Air because of the free baggage. Just my position.

We were offered $200 vouchers and first-class seating on a two-hour later flight for being bumped, which we accepted and accounts for our rating. Return flights (2) were the normal cattle-car seating.

You know, I really like the idea behind Virgin America. But the reality was not so pleasant. Flight attendants were surly and did not want to be there. The screen on my seat did not work. They only had a very limited selection of food items. Only one bathroom was working and the flight attendants refused to let those of us sitting in economy use the first class bathroom (despite the fact that there were only 6 people sitting in first class). The line for the bathroom was 15 people deep the entire flight!!! I would not fly Virgin America again. Forget the hype, it is not a good airline.

My original flight was overbooked and I had 2 connections....so I was aasked to be transported to NYC to JFK and have a straight through flight, I was not in a hurry like so many others over this past holiday weekend...my patience paid off , as I was upgraded and had a non stop :the Delta staff from beginning to end were all exceptional and there are always glitches when traveling......but by far this was my best flight ever....and I have been flying since 1972...so I would go again in a heartbeat...

As usual, American provided good service, decent food and an on schedule flight. Despite having the original flight cancelled due to the Iceland volcano, the customer service representatives booked me on the next available flight with no hassle at all.
