My flight was excellent except for the small space for my legs because the passenger in front of me kept her seat reclined all the way. I had even hard time getting up from my seat. During meal time the flight attendant asked the passenger in front of me not to recline so I could eat. Thank goodness!

This was my first time flying with Iceland Air. The customer service was very good; the attendants were friendly, attentive and helpful, check in was uneventful, and because it was the beginning of the holiday season, they provided some complimentary Icelandic holiday treats for a snack.
That being said, the planes themselves were just awful! They were dirty and threadbare, there was trash left over from the previous flight. Even the front pocket was missing emergency procedure cards for some of us, replaced by the previous flyers garbage! You have to pay for your meals on this transatlantic flight, but honestly, the meals were pretty good. The inflight entertainment was terrible, the movies and TV shows were quite old, so bring something to read. Fortunately one of my favorites was being shown, "My Cousin Vinny", so at least there was that. The music was also pretty dated, and quite a few of the systems weren't working.
All in all though, it was a decent flight, and I got a terrific deal on the price. I fly to Helsinki several times a year, and if Iceland Air offers such a good price again, I'd definitely fly with them more.

ive read that Finnair has often been rated a top airline, and was looking forward to my flight. it was miserable. i could not book the seat i wanted and ended up being seperated from my traveling companion, but it was the seats that made the flight incredibly uncomfortable. i am 5'9 and i'm usually fine in most economy class airline seats, until Finnair. my knees were pressed into the back of the seat in front of my in a way i have not experienced before. it was a miserable 8 hour flight. i think i would rather try icelandic and take the layover.
