Mechanical problems thru no fault of the airline. They easily rebooked me and I got out that same night. I could have bargained and haggled for perks but it was more important to me to get to Frankfurt then waste time negotiating.
As a "I'm sorry gesture" Delta sent me an email of apology and gave me 2500 Delta Sky Miles on my account. So it all worked out fine. Delta is good, food not so much.

Aer Lingus gave us seats in the Exit row which helped a great deal with my husbands long legs. Also, the flight attendants on both flights were extra helpful and pleasant. It was great to have the movies available upon demand instead of on a screen that everyone watched together. It was a comfortable flight.

Comfortable roomy seats, good inflight entertainment with a personal screen for each passenger, very good food, all for a low low price. I have flown this route 5 times in the past 12 months and have no complaints. Have flown the same route with other carriers. Singapore Airlines is by far the best service from JFK to Frankfurt

I can't wait to fly Singapore again. I will never fly a US carrier to go international again.The flight attendants were very attentive, food and wine good, and entertainment great.

As a vegetarian, I was very pleased to peek at one of the carts and find a sign breaking down the meals into 30 chicken and 114 vegetarian. Good and spicy vegetarian food to boot.

I've flown this route many times. The flight is almost always on time. Being a German airline, they have a great selection of beer as well:) On the 747, the best seat on the plane, in my opinion, is the widow seat BEHIND the exit row. You get the window to lean on for some sleep and can still get out to the bathroom without disturbing others as there is some space in front of you due to only 2 seats in the exit row.
