You get what you pay for, but I'm okay with that.
Pros: Super great price, fast loading/unloading of plane, checked luggage arrived at same destination.
Cons: A cramped, not-so-clean plane and NO in-flight amenities.

Left MYR on time, nice flight but when we got to LGA again we could not get into our gate due to another Spirit plane still there. So we sit for 20 minutes until we can get in. Once inside the terminal, hardly any A/C (no heat during the winter), NJ/NY Port Authority Bldg.
Return flight left the gate on time but we were #12 in line to take off. When we took off there were only 4 planes behind us. Improve their flight schedule. In-flight service too expensive and now they want to charge you for carry ons!! People carry on because Spirit STARTED the fee for baggage!! Then they have people at the gate check their bags at the gate at NO charge. Their whole baggage system stinks!!

The trip to NYC was fine except that there was no sign out front stating that the Enterprise Rental Cars shuttle would pick you up. I stayed until their shuttle came and got my car.
Going back was another story. I am glad I got there early. I went to the Spirit counter to get my ticket using the kiosk. Once I got my ticket I had to wait in another line mixed with others wanting their baggage tag put on their bag. It was nearly an hour in that line as the Sprit agents for domestic flights only had one printer working for them to print baggage tags. People going on international flights got out faster than we did.
I did not understand why they put those of us using the kiosk in the same line with those who hadn't got their tickets yet. I could not understand why they could not get someone to fix their baggage printers. I thought I was going to have to stand in another line for security, but I went straight through it. Then had to deal with the construction and dirtiness of Laguardia.

Everything from check in, through cabin service was top notch. The only flaw was the fact that we sat on the taxiway at LGA for almost 30 min waiting for the arrival gate to become available.

No problems at MYR BUT LGA is another story. Gate area is very small with no A/C or heat! Numerous flights coming in together so the area is always jammed up with people going on different flights.Spirit only has one gate at LGA.
TSA is another issue, my wife is searched every time because she has an artifical knee.The day we were leaving a girl told the female TSA agent she had no I.D., but was let thru. (Both were African Americans) So much for security!!
