We only fly a few times a year, and we're generally easy to please. This flight was a connecting flight for us as we traveled from Vancouver back home to Philadelphia. The first problem is we just left a very plush cruise so the contrast was even greater. Vancouver to the Twin Cities was on time and uneventful. This leg was something different. First, the board listed the flight as more than 30 minutes late. When it did arrive, we were told that there was a malfunction that would take a few minutes to clean up (Toilet?). That few minutes stretched to much longer. The counter attendant kept saying that it would be only a few more minutes and seemed embarrassed that the ETD kept moving back. He tried to lighten the mood by telling us we didn't want to face the alternative of not having the cleaning done thoroughly. That was not helping. When we finally got on board, we just sat there with the captain telling us that a weather front was keeping us grounded. Our local weather was fine, and I expect the initial delay caused the subsequent one. The bottom line: we were scheduled to be in Philadelphia at 10:30. We arrived at 1 am. That was my first experience with Delta, and I plan on making it my last.
