The flight home was nothing short of traumatic. I went to check in (30 minutes before departure... there were only 3 gates in the entire airport) and I was told they wouldn't check my bag. When I asked what am I supposed to do ? I was told, and I quote "I DON"T KNOW, I GUESS YOU NEED TO FIGURE THAT OUT". They wouldn't even let me use their desk phone to call Delta, I was told I needed to use my own cell phone, but there was no cell service in their airport. I had to walk out of the airport grounds 1/2 mile to get service (luggage in tow in 95 degree heat)! Once I was connected with a Delta representative, they informed me that since I missed my flight, there was a $300 penalty fee and then I had to assume the difference of the cost of a new ticket!!!

I am nothing short of appalled that Delta can get away with treating their customers this way. Needless to say, I will NEVER SET FOOT ON A DELTA FLIGHT again. Walking would have been easier.
