The flight was wonderful....We were up in the air in no time and to our destination incredibly fast and efficient. The attendants were courteous and very nice. I would definitely fly Delta again to Memphis. I love those little 50 seater planes - no middle seats - just aisle and window. I like the aisle and my husband likes the window. Very nice experience.

Check in went ok, but I was informed that the plane was over booked and needed a volunteer to be bumped. When I inquired about getting bumped, I was told that there would be no way for me to arrive at my destination that day, so I didn't volunteer.

The plane was late to begin boarding because the inbound flight was a bit late. After getting everyone on board, a gate agent come on board and announced that the plane was overweight. She said that four people would have to get off in exchange for a later flight and a $400 voucher.

Only one person got off, so a different gate agent came on board and requested an additional three. She said that the plane would not take off until those people deplaned. Three more people eventually got off.

The plane left the gate but stopped short of the runway. The pilot announced that the plane had 500 gallons too much fuel on board and that we would have to sit on the tarmat for about 20 minutes to burn the excess fuel.

You'd think Delta could have done some better planning in advance....

Because of the delays, I barely made my connection in Memphis.
