I have always flown Alaska, but never really knew how good they were until I flew a different airline on the way to Miami. I'm not sure if you can ever get truly comfortable in Economy, but the flight attendants and gate attendants were friendly and wonderful. It makes the entire experience that much better. Alaska sets the standard for quality customer service all across the board. I am still bothered that if you need a meal you have to purchase it, but the meals were pretty decent. And to top it off, by the time I got to the luggage carousel, the luggage was already coming out to pick up. Yea Alaska you ROCK!

Even though we had confirmed seats they were not available at the gate. Ran out of food before they got to us, pretzels just aren't enough on a six hour flight.

I hope not to jinx myself, but I have never had a bad flight with Alaska Air - they seem to know what they are doing, and do it well. Ok - you have to buy food, but what airline gives anything for free anymore? They run the airline well!

Alaska Air has never failed to deliver. Of course I have only flown them 4 or 5 times, but all experiences have been pleasant.
