The trip to Chicago left on time, and arrived a few minutes early, with a very smooth landing. On the return trip, we did have to stay on the runway for about 30 minutes due to a quick moving thunderstorm that came through, which was fine with me. Safety first. They were on top of giving arrival gate, and the gates of all fliers continuing on, asking those who were not trying to connect to allow those who were to deplane first.

Where do I start? This was a Delta Connection flight #3976 operated by Pinnacle Airlines. I had been tracking this flight for over 2 weeks and it was late or cancelled almost 85-90% of the time. It was supposed to operate with a CRJ-900 but Pinnacle switched equipment at the last minute throwing all preassigned boarding passed into chaos. I had been upgraded to a first class seat but that went out the window. The gate agents were of little or no help except to announce if you have an old ticket (the majority is electronic these days), give it to us so we can see about getting you a new seat (they went from a 70+ seat plane to a 50 seat one). They did announce that not everyone will be able to be accomodated, and also, "we'll board in a few minutes (this stretched on for over 30 min) and "stand by...stand by...stand by" when asked any questions. I had a critical international connection I was concerned about and all I got was "stand by". The boarding process was chaotic as well. They started calling each passenger by name and then telling them it was "open seating" on the plane. They were supposed to go by zones with zone 1 passengers (diamond platinum and platimum frequent flyers first, then gold, then silver, etc. But gold flyers were walking up at the last minute and walking right down the jet way. The agents could not organize the chaos that was happening at the gate with so many people trying to get on a limited space flight and the people starting to crowd the jetway entrance. I was very, very disappointed in Delta and Pinnacle's handling of this flight. I arrived Chicago O'Hare with about an hour and a half before my international connection departed and it seems about as far away to go to the next terminal as possible. I will never do an international connection in O'Hare again.

Easy to check in (between 1h and 30 min) and shorter flight than expected. We arrived earlier than expected both ways.

My job requires me to travel. I do not want food, drinks, blankets or pillows-just adult to adult transactions. The delta flight attendants seemed to think all the passengers on this flight were imposing on their free time. By the time the drink cart got to my row, they had stopped asking is anyone wanted cookies or a drink-it was more of a nod and brief eye contact. I dislike flying but especially dislike flying Delta.
