Left my shoulder bag on the airplane, i.e. no ID!! Customer service is horrible I was given wrong advice by EVERYONE I spoke to at Continental. I spent an average wait time of 45 minutes each time I called just to be able to speak to a human!! Once I was on the cell phone for a full 1:30 minutes, and resolved nothing...but I did get more bad advice!!!!! Continental claims it's becausse of the merger with United. BTW...United customer service is pretty horrible itself theses days. It is, quite simply, not what it used to be...if all my miles weren't on United I'd be shopping for another "regular" carrier. United does answer the phone calls quicker, but it's questionable how effective this is when you are put directly in contact with the Fillipines for any matter. You first have to break through them asking you 100 times if they're doing a good job and then repeatedly try to help them understand why you're calling!! Do yourself a favor...force the issue of the Fillipinos transferring you immediately to the USA for support, you will save at least :30 minutes on the phone. Did I mention that the TSA are still a bunch of complete idiots and getting worse? ? The entire organization needs to be dismantled and flushed into the past!! Totally Superfluous Organization - TSA.

Flying from LA to DC and back is about as long as it gets (5+ hours). Had to pay $69 each way to upgrade to Economy plus but the extra leg room was worth it. Wish United would let me use miles instead of $$. Both flights were on time.

I hate flying so I do it as little as possible and when I fly I try to pick the best option. I have flown with Virgin America twice now and actually joined their frequent flyer club. Clean planes with tvs in the back of every seat. Music and entertainment for each passenger. Seats are tight for my tall frame but unless I pay for first class I think that is going ot be the case with any airline.

Very full flight not much on the frills and thrills. Unattentive flight crew and lousy seats (hard thin cushions). Firsdt time on Americal airlines after 10 years absence and I can honestly say it wasn't missed

Sunday August first, we arrived at LAX more than 90 minutes before our 8:40 United flight departure. We spent almost all of that 90 minutes in the unmoving security line. They said they would call people to the front if their flight times were getting close, but when they did actually call them to the front, they still missed their flights. We watched as at least 6 different flights were missed just by the people near us in line. We were in the upstairs security line, but later, standing in the customer assistance line after we'd missed our flight, I checked with other travelers and they said the downstairs line had been just as bad. The gate people were no help when we it was clear we'd missed the flight. The customer assistance line was long and extremely slow, so we were there almost 2 hours and eventually made our own flight changes on the phone, necessitating an $80 van ride over to John Wayne airport so we could get out the same day. What a nightmare! And just to top it all off, when our return flight landed back at LAX, it took almost 2 hours to get the one bag we'd checked. I don't care how many stops I have to make - from now on I'm doing all of my traveling from Burbank.

I discovered VirginAmerica this past winter for my crosscountry trips and it is with great dismay that I will no longer be making those trips. VirginAmerica is simple, clever, and efficient. Their boarding procedures are seamless. Consequently, all my flights have taken off and arrived early. My only wish is that they flew between LA and Cleveland :(

or as pleasant as any flight could be. Crew kept passengers informed and assisted with carry-ons. Unlimited supply of water helps. Also helps that most passengers keep window shades drawn. A smooth uneventful ride- just the way we like it.

Both flights departed on time and arrived early. The flights themselves were smooth. The service was adequate, with no unpleasant experiences. The food available (for a fee)was average. The seats were as might be expected in Economy, perhaps a bit more comfortable than usual. The entertainment selections were OK, although there was an extra fee for current movies.

Recommmend outdoor check-in as extra long line at American desk for those with printed boarding passes. Flight 144 left half hour late; most people had to sit on floor at LAX gate (46A?)since there are few seats. Like all other flights now, it was packed full. Seat headrest was good in that it was molded so your head doesn't fall to the side when "sleeping." Good service from attendants for drinks, etc. Special chicken sandwich was good with big chunks of chicken in it - but $10 for it.

US Airways has been on my do-not-fly list since they took away my miles a few years ago and became known as the "nickle-dime the flyer" airline. However I had to use them on the last trip and was pleasantly surprised by the legroom, easy check-in and on-time flights. Especially compared to America, legroom in coach was better than average in my economy seat. They did withhold a significant number of seats from booking to try and extract another $25 for "premium" seating. No music on any of the the 5 aircraft, so my headphones were of no use. If I had known, I would have made arrangements to bring my own player.

I had no trouble securing a frequent flier seat for the days I was traveling. I DID upgrade to Economy Plus. This trip was actually one of the more pleasant flying experiences recently as the plane wasn't full in either direction. As for "service", it is very, very basic. The attendants were even late in picking up trash before landing.
