Virgin America is one of my favorite airlines and now that they fly non-stop from Los Angeles to Philadelphia, there is no reason to fly anyone else. Service is excellent, they provide individual television / entertainment devices, and they manage to depart and arrive on time.

I am flying them again next Tuesday and looking forward to the experience.

Regardless if they happen to offer the lowest travel price to your destination - avoid US Airways if at all possible. On my trip from California to Philadelphia my baggage did not arrive to baggage cleim until over an hour after landing. We learned that is typical for US Airways in Philadelphia. Of course, their excuse was "Technical Difficulties" in unloading luggage from our plane.

Then on our return flight, the plan was delayed for take-off so that we could not catch our connecting flight in Phoenx, so we asked to be reassigned on a later direct flight to LAX. This was accomplished easily, but then the direct flight was delayed for over 3 hours waiting for a co-pilot to come aboard. When he finally did appear, we then waited anoth hour for refueling now that we sat with the engines running on the tarmac for 3 hours.

We obviously did not receive our luggage upon arriving at LAS since the luggage was on the Phoenix connecting flight which then missed the LASX connecting flight. The next day, I was asked to wait for the arrival of my baggage at my home, after 6 hours waiting - call their baggage claim service and they cannot provide any information as now their baggage system is being "updated" on a Friday afternoon. I am tired of all the lies from US Airways, and I hope my review helps others avoid the same troubles that are certainly ahead if they select US Airways for their travels.

Flight was full and there is limited space for carry on unless you are boarding as the first 1/3 to 1/2 half of the flight. Crew was pleasant and the pilot was able to get us to our arrival cities on time or early even when we left late because we had full flights. Baggage handling needs to be faster when picking up checked bags.

I think Southwest is the leader in commuter flights... has a lot of flights to choose from, best rates, dont nickle and dime you, and knows how to get you from point A to point B quickly and on time!

Took the red-eye from LAX to Philly on US Air's A321 aircraft.

The aircraft was filled to capacity, and carry-on storage was a minor problem for those who were last to board.

Other than that, the flight was really very comfortable. The seats on the A321 are roomy compared to others and everyone slept the entire flight back to the east coast.

I would recommend US Air's red-eye for the coast to coast crossing, made it seem like an easy trip, and everyone was well rested when we got to Philly.

We were taking the Red Eye home from LAX to PHL.At Boarding time we received a Cell phone call from United stating Departure 1:00 a.m. The departure time was suppose to be 10:10 p.m. Just then the attendant announced the Gate was changed. They knew nothing about time change. Ran to next gate and they knew nothing. Finally close to boarding time, they announced the delay. Every restaurant and beverage/food stand was closed by then. We had to sit there for three (3) hours. It was so frustrating. They said we were waiting for another plance because ours was taken out of service for

mechanical failure. I am betting they probably checked that plane before boarding time & my guess is that a Pilot was probably delayed.

By the way, on the way to LAX from PHL, we had to wait on the runway an hour because there were 25 flights ahead of us on the field. They have no system whatsoever!

My Coast to Coast Flight last Wednesday evening on US Airways.

Rude steward. Didn't welcome anyone in my general area on board. Was told there was no room for my one and only carry on a laptop computer and that I would probably have to check the bag. (check a laptop??? what the hey??) Did not offer one stitch of help to fit my bag or make room into the overhead bin and this was First Class. He and the stewardess carried on a sometime loud conversation in front of the first class cabin. Could see the steward eating his meal from my seat. No closet. No Food except One offer of beverage once hour into the flight, one cookie/chips. (I never imagined no food in first class-I had not eaten dinner and thought I could at least be offered a plate or snack of something cold) No coffee offered even upon approach to our destination. NO MOVIE, NO MUSIC. No Entertainment. In fact the steward didn't even give the safety instructions to the First Class Cabin, he stood in the front of Coach and did his shtick there then came on back to our cabin. I didn't object to this but it did surprise me.

Poor leg room, fair side to side room. Uncomfortable, old and dirty seats. Dirty floor and arm rest. Old airplane. NO PILLOW but the little disposables, no blanket. What happened to First Class pillows and style?

Absolutely horrible experience. Will never fly US Air again!! My flight from PIT-LAX in coach on United's Coach-Plus was much more comfortable.

What about breakfast since the flight arrived at 6:20am? What a waste of money and completely absurd airline you run. I've never experienced a worse First Class. Coach Class these days you don't expect much but First Class you imagine service. This letter will also be sent to the LA Times, Sunset and Conde Naste Magazines.
