Traveled cross country with 2 kids under 5. Satellite TV saved my life! They were too enthralled with the screens to be scared as we took off. The seats were clean and comfortable. The service was excellent. Loved being able to order food from my seat, so convenient. The flight attendants were friendly, helpful and super nice to my kids. Will try to fly Virgin every time I go to the East Coast.

I booked a direct flight from LAX to JFK on 11/20. Planning to go back to work next day.

Either the airline or the travel agent notify me the flight was canceled.

When I arrived at the airport they put me from LAX to Las Vegas to Chicago to LGA. A six hour direct flight I ended up spending 20 hours waiting at the airport to flight home.

Of course I missed one work day and lost one day paid.

I also lost the bonus of being perfect attend.

Both flights were extremely full, but in both cases service was pleasant and professional. On the return flight from JFK to LAX, the direct TV was not working. The crew tried to get it up and running but couldn't make it happen so they gave every passenger a $20 credit for future flights.

I generally like Virgin American. The seats are as comfortable as they can be, given that there's very little room per passenger, and the service has always been as asant and professional as it was on these flights.

Excellent fares. So far has won the battle with Jet Blue for better fares and available flights to JFK. Check in is a breeze if you first check-in online, then you just need to drop off your bag. The $25 baggage fee is a little steep, so it makes carry-on more of an option (not that I like it because my luggage is usually quite heavy and hard for me to lift into the overhead). Flight attendants are very friendly. Food is expensive and portions small so we usually bring our own food on, which is more stuff for me to carry. Passing out a small snack with our drink would be nice.

I have been told numerous times that Virgin America is a great "no-frills" airline. It isn't bad, but it just didn't live up to the hype for me. To start off, the terminal at LAX is a pit. Over crowded, dirty bathrooms, only a couple of food options and the check in process is crazy. The plane itself was new-ish and clean, but the seats seemed particularly cramped (when are airlines going to stop people from going to full recline?). The flight crew was basically invisible, but that might be due to the fact that it was a red-eye. Also, what pinhead decided that touch screens were a good idea? I had the guy behind me tapping the screen for the whole 5 hours. It was thoroughly annoying to just get to sleep and have the back of my seat pushed because the guy couldn't find Comedy Network.

Also, the price is cheap but when you factor in the $25/bag fee, Jet Blue is a much better experience.

I am 5'10" and 240lbs rugby player, a little chubby but not a lot. I expected a cattle car and got it. That's bare bones service in today's market.

On Delta's nonstop LAX to JFK, I can sleep (nice headrest idea with the side flaps that bend forward to hold your head), but my shoulders stick out past the edge of the seat -- and I'm not a really big guy.

My buddy is 6'4". Anyone over 6'2" - MAKE SURE TO BOOK EARLY AND GET A BULKHEAD SEAT! There just isn't room for long legs in the coach seating! My poor friend at least had an aisle seat, but he got his feet stepped on a few times by careless passengers heading to the bathroom, and almost got his knee bashed by the concession cart. He couldn't recline the seat AT ALL (because with these seats the bottom shifts forward when the back reclines, and he couldn't fit with the seat bottom fully back to begin with). He was miserable. He tried to sleep with the tray table down and his head against the seat in front of him. Not very successful.

Jet Blue offered a great price, comfortable seating and both trips going and coming were on time (back to LA actually early).

I have recommended Airfare Watchdog to so many people and I am always pleased with the special fares they alert me too. Took advantage of some special unadvertised Southwest flights for our daughter and college trips.

One leg was okay. The other was nearly unbearable because we were stuck with overworked senior flight attendants that literally rolled their eyes when they needed to deal with passengers for basic tasks. If you want to feel like an unwelcome and bothersome nuisance, this is a great airline to fly. Honestly, if it weren't for Delta's good frequent flyer program, and Virgin's horrible one, I'd opt for Virgin America to NYC every time. Earlier this year I paid half the cost of this flight to fly LAX-JFK on Virgin and was actually treated like a paying customer by professionals who didn't seem to loathe their jobs.

after a six hour delay due to mechanical problems and American incompetence afterwards on my outbound American flight, the return flight was delayed three hours. The cause was described as a defective valve in a lavatory. When that was "fixed", the airline discovered another defective lavatory. Total delay: three hours.

My 7:30 PM flight out of JFK didn't depart until 10:30 PM. First, we sat on the tarmac at JFK for 2 1/2 hours while the Captain reported that there was a minor mechanical problem that was being fixed. Upon revving up the engines and declaring that we were ready to prepare for departure, suddenly the whole plane lost electricity, and we were plunged into darkness. The Captain's reassurances that sometimes 'things like that happen' didn't console all the passengers. Some decided that they wanted off the plane, even after the Captain remarked that pulling back into the gate to let people off would further delay us. We finally departed three hours late. The flight attendants apologized for the delays, and stated that the ground crew had been in communication with the Atlanta office and that no comps of any kind would be offered, not even a free beverage; neither did they add on any extra food or drink, so that when the now-hungry passengers ordered food, there was not enough for everyone.

These flights were cramped and uncomfortable with no legroom. Planes were mostly full which was a good thing. We flew to and from Athens (from/to JFK) also on Delta. On the way there we stayed overnight in NY but on the way back we transferred right away to fly to LAX. The planes to Athens were 2-3-2 seating which was awful for long haul comfort. The seats were better, more legroom, but still tight.

Low fat meals were good on the JFK-Athens-JFK.

We had a travel voucher from a previous United disaster that we applied to this trip. When I went online to print out the boarding pass, the website said I needed to check in at the airport. When I called, the 'rep was useless and said everything looked good. I let her know that does not help me as I still cannot print out my boarding pass. She transferred me to web support and they indicated there is a glitch in the system were tickets purchased with vouchers cause the system to hiccup. She did something and presto! My boarding pass appeared.

The flight was a typical UAL flight. Frankly, after flying VirginAmerica, I'm now totally spoiled and will never look at a flight the same way again. Get with the picture UAL. Give us what we want! TV, some video games and maybe a hello every now and then

The flights could have been improved by more padding in the bottom of the seats. Meals are better than most airline but still need a better variety for the $ and increased freshness. Return flight was better than outbound. On board entertainment gave lots of choices and the music selection gave me lots to listen too and make time pass quickly.

I had a personal crisis at JFK that required assistance and the gate personnel were wonderful. Since then the phone help has also been responsive and supportive.

Refuse to pay $3. for cookie on American. Did carryon so we didn't have to pay to check. Flight early - service ok and at least we were on a 767 - in 2 seat combo (HJ)- not United which flies coast to coast with 757 and the 3/3 combo.

We played the games we knew we had to play - had lunch before we boarded and survived a better than average flight.

The guy in 10F - the emergency exit row - order at least 5 rounds of doubles! To the point that he was excitedly clapping and yelling at his TV screen - to the point of making it hard to watch my TV with all the jumping he was doing. The whole fight the airline crew were happily bringing round after round - even asking what he was watching that was so exciting. While orders for free drinks just weren't getting filled. 10F paid more for alcolhol than my ticket cost - but still one water?

But should the airlines allow the emergency exit rows to get wasted? After 10 drinks (at least - I may have lost count) there was no way he was helping anyone off a plane!
